CIP – Candidate Improvement Program
Recruit with evidence, not instinct.
Between your online assessments and assessment day, our Candidate Improvement Program takes candidates through a curated journey of learning air traffic control concepts. It records how they pick up new ideas, how they handle complexity, and how they adapt. So you recruit with evidence, not instinct.
HOW CIP WORKS
From initial screening to an informed shortlist.
A focused online learning journey adds behavioural evidence before you commit assessment-centre time.

PROCESS STEP
Home assessments
Candidates first complete your existing home assessments. CIP adds evidence after they meet your initial requirements.
Your existing selection process stays in place. CIP adds a learning journey and evidence between its stages.
The problem
Air traffic control recruitment is broken. ANSPs run aptitude and psychometric tests, then invite candidates to an assessment centre where six controllers assess six applicants, hoping one or two succeed. With only twelve assessment days a year, that yields roughly twenty-five controllers against a need for a hundred. And the recruitment meta shifts every year, chasing its tail through equity and diversity changes and the latest idea of what good looks like, without ever measuring what actually predicts success.
What it is
The Candidate Improvement Program sits between your home assessments and your assessment day. It's a software as a service, purely online, with all data accessible to the ANSP that acquires it. Successful candidates receive a link and complete ten stages in two to three hours.
What it does
Candidates learn air traffic control concepts from zero, climb, descend, left and right instructions, right through to navigating a plane around a course through interaction alone. No comms required. They learn the reasons behind the concepts, driving a system top down like air traffic control does, while understanding the vertical element.
The data
Real-time behavioural data flows back immediately, attention, effort, commitment to task, distractions, time taken, interactions per minute. That data re-ranks candidates who've already met the minimum requirements, so assessment centres invite better people and get better outcomes.
The second-order benefit
The CIP also shows candidates what the job is actually like. Some will choose not to show up, which is a gift, because it filters out the people who'd wash out later anyway.
